We Were Soldiers

This movie, starring Mel Gibson, is based in 1965 Vietnam.  There is a brief segment showing how  French Group 100 Mobile tried to control the La Drang Valley and got ambushed.  They use a Jeep, Dodge WC-51 and a half-track in the movie.


The French Soldiers know something is going on, they just don't know what it is.

 


One of the first explosions of the film.  The Dodge gets spared, but the Jeep ahead of it is not so lucky. You will also see some unknown vehicle blown to smithereens.


The Soldiers of France Group 100 mobile trying to hold off the North Vietnamese attackers.  It doesn't look good for the French.
